Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before booking a repair or making a purchase.
Agreement to These Terms
By booking a repair, purchasing a device or accessory, submitting a quote request, or otherwise engaging with Mobile Fix Studio ("we", "us", "our"), you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and any additional policies referenced herein.
These terms apply to all services delivered by Mobile Fix Studio — whether at your home, workplace, or any other agreed location across the Northwest UK, and to all products sold via our website or in person.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not proceed with a booking or purchase. Contact us at mobilefixstudio@outlook.com and we will be happy to clarify anything before you commit.
Booking Terms & Appointments
A repair booking may be made via our website quote form, WhatsApp, email, or phone. By submitting a booking request, you agree to the following:
Booking Confirmation
Your booking is confirmed only once we have acknowledged it in writing (via WhatsApp, email or SMS). We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion, in which case no charge will be made.
Your Responsibilities at Booking
- You must provide accurate and complete information about the device, fault description and your location
- You confirm you are the legal owner of the device, or have written authorisation from the owner to have it repaired
- You agree to be present at the agreed location — or have a responsible adult (18+) present on your behalf — at the agreed time
- You must ensure the device is accessible and, where required, unlocked before our technician arrives
- You agree to disable 'Find My iPhone', 'Google Find My Device' or equivalent services before screen or component replacements where required by the repair
Appointment Times
Appointment times are estimates. Traffic, preceding repairs and unforeseen circumstances may cause minor delays. We will notify you if we are running significantly late. Punctuality is important to us and we treat your time with respect.
We strongly recommend backing up all data on your device before every appointment, regardless of the repair type. See Section 07 for our full data loss policy.
Repair Quotes & Pricing
Quote Validity
All quotes provided — whether via our online form, WhatsApp, email or in person — are estimates based on the fault description and device information you provide. Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of issue.
Price Changes After Inspection
The final price may differ from the initial quote if:
- The actual fault is different from, or more complex than, the description provided
- Additional damage or faults are discovered during disassembly that were not visible externally
- The device requires specialist parts not covered by the original quote
- The device model or variant differs from that stated at booking
We will always communicate any price change before proceeding with additional work. You have the right to decline at that point at no extra charge, subject to our no-fix, no-fee policy in Section 08.
Travel Charges
Travel charges may apply for locations outside our standard service zone. Any applicable travel fee will be disclosed at the time of booking, before you confirm your appointment.
A quote is not a guarantee of repairability. Some faults can only be fully assessed after the device has been opened and inspected.
Payment Terms
When Payment Is Due
- Repairs — payment is due upon completion of the repair at your location
- Refurbished phones — payment is required in full before the handset is dispatched or handed over
- Accessories — payment is due at the point of purchase or delivery
- Parts orders — a deposit may be required before specialist parts are ordered (see below)
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept cash, bank transfer (BACS), and card payments via our mobile payment terminal. Cheques are not accepted. Online purchases (refurbished phones, accessories, and booking fees) are processed securely via Stripe(stripe.com). Card details are entered directly on Stripe's encrypted checkout page — we do not store or have access to your full payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
On-the-Go Visit Booking Fee
When you submit a repair booking via our website, a £10 non-refundable booking fee is charged through Stripe at the time of booking. This fee:
- Secures your On-the-Go visit slot and confirms your booking
- Is fully deducted from your final repair bill on completion of the repair
- Is non-refundable in all circumstances — including customer cancellation, rescheduling or no-show
- Will not be refunded if our technician attends your location and you are not present
- Will not be refunded if you decide not to proceed with the repair once our technician has attended
- Will be refunded in full only if Mobile Fix Studio cancels the booking and cannot offer a suitable alternative
The £10 booking fee exists to protect our technicians' time and travel costs. By completing payment you confirm you understand and accept the non-refundable nature of this fee. If you need to cancel, please notify us as early as possible — we will always try to rebook you at no extra charge.
Deposits
A deposit may be required for:
- Specialist or non-standard parts that must be ordered in advance
- High-value repairs (typically where parts cost exceeds £100)
- Refurbished phone purchases placed in advance of handover
Deposit amounts and conditions will be clearly communicated before you commit. Deposits are non-refundable once parts have been ordered on your behalf. If we are unable to source the part, your deposit will be refunded in full.
Late or Non-Payment
Devices will not be returned until payment has been received in full. Devices left unpaid and uncollected for more than 60 days will be subject to our unclaimed devices procedure, including reasonable notice before disposal.
Repair Turnaround & Timeframes
Same-Day & On-the-Go Repairs
The majority of our repairs are completed at your location within 30–90 minutes. Common same-day repairs include:
- Screen replacements (most models) — 30–60 minutes
- Battery replacements — 20–45 minutes
- Charging port repairs — 30–60 minutes
- Camera replacements — 30–60 minutes
- Back glass repairs — 45–90 minutes
Complex or Lab-Based Repairs
Some repairs cannot be completed on-the-go and require a more controlled environment or specialist equipment. These include motherboard repairs, micro-soldering and severe water damage treatment. Estimated turnaround for lab-based repairs is 1–5 working days, depending on the fault and parts availability. We will advise you at the time of assessment.
Parts Availability
Turnaround times are estimates and may be extended if parts need to be ordered. We will keep you informed of any delays and provide a revised estimate as soon as possible.
Turnaround time estimates are not contractually binding. Delays caused by parts availability, device complexity or circumstances beyond our control do not entitle you to a price reduction unless separately agreed.
Customer Responsibilities
To ensure the best possible repair outcome, you agree to the following responsibilities:
- Provide an accurate and honest description of the device fault and history of damage
- Disclose any previous repair attempts, including third-party repairs, which may affect our ability to repair the device
- Remove your SIM card and any memory cards before handing the device over unless instructed otherwise
- Ensure the device is charged to at least 20% battery before the technician arrives, where possible
- Secure your device with a temporary, simple passcode for the duration of the repair if access is required, and change it afterwards
- Inform us of any known liquid, drop or impact damage history that may not be visible externally
- Back up all personal data (contacts, photos, apps, documents) before any repair appointment
Failure to disclose prior damage or previous repair attempts may result in complications that are not covered by our warranty and may increase the repair cost. We always operate transparently and expect the same from our customers.
Data Loss & Device Content
Mobile phone repairs carry an inherent risk of data loss, even when carried out by experienced technicians. By proceeding with a repair, you acknowledge and accept the following:
- Mobile Fix Studio accepts no responsibility for loss of data, contacts, photos, messages, applications or other content stored on or associated with the device
- Certain repairs (such as motherboard replacement or factory resets) will result in complete data loss as a necessary part of the process
- We strongly recommend backing up your device to iCloud, Google Drive or a computer before every repair appointment
- We will inform you in advance if a specific repair is known to cause data loss, where this is foreseeable
Back up your device before every appointment. This is your responsibility and cannot be delegated to us. We are unable to recover data lost as a result of or during a repair process, even where data loss was unforeseeable.
Repair Risks & Accidental Damage Limitations
While our technicians operate with professional care and skill, you acknowledge that mobile phone repair carries inherent risks:
Pre-Existing Conditions
We are not liable for damage, faults or deterioration arising from conditions that existed before the repair began, including:
- Pre-existing cracks, dents, corrosion or water ingress not caused by our repair
- Degraded or swollen batteries that rupture during removal
- Adhesive failure in older devices due to age or prior damage
- Components that fail during disassembly due to extreme corrosion or damage
Accidental Damage During Repair
In the rare event that accidental damage occurs during a repair that is directly caused by our technician's error, we will:
- Inform you immediately and transparently
- Repair the accidental damage at no additional charge, or
- Offer a fair resolution, which may include a partial or full refund of the repair cost
Our liability in such cases is limited to the cost of the repair service paid. We are not liable for consequential losses, including the cost of a replacement device.
Manufacturer Warranty
Opening your device to carry out a repair will typically void any remaining manufacturer warranty. This is a standard consequence of third-party repair and is beyond our control. We recommend checking your manufacturer warranty status before proceeding.
Our liability for any repair is capped at the total amount paid for that specific repair. We recommend insuring high-value devices separately.
Water Damage Limitations
Water damage repair is one of the most unpredictable services we offer. By booking a water damage assessment or treatment, you accept the following specific limitations:
- Water damage recovery is never guaranteed. The extent of corrosion and the components affected cannot always be determined before treatment begins.
- Initial water damage treatment (cleaning and drying) will be charged as a diagnostic and treatment fee regardless of outcome. This fee is non-refundable if the device cannot be recovered.
- Devices that have been charged, switched on, or left for a prolonged period after water exposure have a significantly lower recovery rate.
- Even if a device appears to function after initial treatment, latent corrosion may cause further failure days or weeks later. Our 90-day warranty does not cover latent water damage failure.
- Water damage may cause permanent damage to the battery, charging system, camera, speaker or other components that cannot be individually attributed to our treatment.
- We will not proceed with water damage treatment on a device that has obvious signs of catastrophic physical damage alongside liquid ingress without your explicit consent.
Do not charge or power on a water-damaged device before bringing it to us. Doing so significantly increases the risk of permanent damage and reduces the chance of a successful recovery.
Software Repair Limitations
Software-related repairs and services — including factory resets, software unlocking, iOS or Android reinstallation, and data recovery attempts — carry specific limitations you must understand before proceeding:
Factory Resets & OS Reinstallation
- A factory reset will erase all data on the device. This is irreversible and cannot be undone once initiated.
- We will always obtain your explicit consent before performing a factory reset.
- iOS and Android reinstallation may require an active internet connection and a valid Apple ID or Google account.
- We are not responsible for software issues caused by third-party applications, modified firmware (rooted or jailbroken devices), or unsupported operating system versions.
Network & Carrier Unlocking
Network unlocking services are subject to eligibility requirements set by the original carrier. We cannot guarantee unlock success for all devices. If an unlock is not possible, no charge will apply for the unlock attempt.
Data Recovery
Data recovery is not guaranteed and success depends on the extent of physical or logical damage to the storage. A diagnostic fee applies for data recovery assessments regardless of outcome.
We do not accept responsibility for software faults introduced by third-party applications, operator updates, or use of the device after our service is complete.
No-Fix, No-Fee Policy
We operate a no-fix, no-fee policy for most standard repairs. This means if we are unable to fix the stated fault, you will not be charged for labour. The following conditions apply:
- No-fix, no-fee applies to the specific fault described at booking. It does not apply to additional or unrelated faults discovered during the repair.
- Any parts that have been ordered, fitted and then removed at your request (e.g. if you change your mind mid-repair) may be charged at cost price.
- A diagnostic fee may be agreed in advance for complex faults that require extensive assessment time. This fee applies regardless of repair outcome and will be disclosed before work begins.
- Water damage treatment fees apply regardless of recovery outcome (see Section 09).
- If you decline a repair after a revised quote is provided during disassembly, no charge applies unless a diagnostic fee was pre-agreed.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both parties:
Customer Cancellations — Website Bookings (£10 Booking Fee Paid)
If you booked via our website and paid the £10 booking fee:
- The £10 booking fee is non-refundable regardless of when you cancel or reschedule
- Cancellation or rescheduling is accepted at any time — contact us as early as possible
- Rescheduling to a new date and time is free of charge (your £10 still applies to the rescheduled visit)
- If you no-show without notice, the £10 is retained and a new booking fee is required to rebook
- Cancellation after parts have been specially ordered — deposit is also non-refundable (see Section 04)
Customer Cancellations — Quote or Informal Bookings (No Fee Paid)
- Cancelled or rescheduled more than 2 hours before the appointment — no charge
- Cancelled less than 2 hours before the appointment — a late cancellation fee of £10 may apply
- No-show without prior notice — a no-show fee of £10 may apply
- Cancellation after parts have been specially ordered — deposit is non-refundable (see Section 04)
Cancellations by Mobile Fix Studio
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule an appointment due to technician illness, emergency, adverse travel conditions or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases:
- We will notify you as soon as possible via your preferred contact method
- We will offer the next available appointment at a time convenient to you
- Any deposit paid will be refunded in full if you do not wish to rebook

Online Shop — Checkout & Cart
Cart Reservation
When you add a refurbished phone to your shopping cart on our website, it is held for a maximum of 1 hour. After this period your cart reservation lapses and the item may be purchased by another customer. We cannot guarantee availability for items held in your cart but not paid for.
Payment & Order Confirmation
Payment for online orders is processed by Stripe. Your order is confirmed only once payment has been successfully completed and you have received a confirmation email from us. If Stripe declines your payment, no order is placed and no charge is made.
Availability
All refurbished phones listed on our website are subject to availability. In the unlikely event that an item sells out between you adding it to your cart and completing checkout, we will contact you immediately and issue a full refund with no deduction.
Refurbished phones are individual items — once sold they are removed from the website. Accessories are treated as unlimited stock unless otherwise stated.
Refurbished Phone Sales
All refurbished handsets sold by Mobile Fix Studio are graded, tested and described as accurately as possible. By purchasing a refurbished phone, you agree to the following:
Device Grading
Devices are sold in the following condition grades:
- Grade A — Excellent condition. Minimal to no signs of use. Full functionality confirmed.
- Grade B — Good condition. Light signs of use (minor scratches). Full functionality confirmed.
- Grade C — Fair condition. Visible wear marks. Full functionality confirmed.
- Faulty / For Parts — Sold as-is. Specific faults disclosed. No warranty applies.
What's Included

- A compatible charging cable (unless otherwise stated)
- Our standard 12-month warranty on the handset (see Warranty Terms)
- A receipt or invoice for your purchase
Returns & Refunds — Refurbished Phones
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a right to a repair, replacement or refund if the device is not as described or develops a fault within 30 days. After 30 days, our 12-month warranty applies. Returns must be initiated within 14 days of receipt for change-of-mind returns. Devices must be returned in the same condition as sold.
Refurbished phones are pre-owned devices. They have been professionally tested and repaired but may carry minor cosmetic marks consistent with previous use, as described in the device grade.
Tech & Gadgets Sales
Tech products and gadgets sold by Mobile Fix Studio — including iPads, tablets, laptops, gaming consoles, audio equipment and smartwatches — are subject to the following terms:
Warranty on Tech & Gadgets
All tech products and gadgets carry a 6-month warranty against hardware defects and failures that arise through normal use. Battery health is disclosed at the point of sale. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid ingress, software issues, or damage caused by misuse. See our full Warranty Terms for details.
Returns — Tech & Gadgets
- You have a right to a full refund if the item is not as described or is faulty within 30 days
- After 30 days, the 6-month warranty applies — repair or replacement at our discretion
- Returns for change of mind must be initiated within 14 days in original, unused condition
- Items showing signs of use, damage or missing accessories may be subject to a partial refund
Accessories Sales
All accessories (cases, screen protectors, chargers, cables, power banks and similar products) sold by Mobile Fix Studio are subject to the following terms:
Compatibility
We make every effort to list accessories with accurate compatibility information. It is your responsibility to confirm compatibility with your specific device model before purchase. We accept no liability for accessories purchased for the wrong device model.
Returns — Accessories
- Unopened accessories may be returned within 14 days of purchase for a full refund
- Opened accessories (including applied screen protectors) may only be returned if faulty
- Faulty accessories will be replaced or refunded within 30 days of purchase (manufacturing defects)
- We do not accept returns on accessories damaged through misuse, incorrect fitting, or exposure to liquids
Warranty on Accessories
All accessories carry a 30-day warranty against manufacturing defects. This does not cover cosmetic damage, wear and tear, or damage caused by misuse.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, our total liability to you arising from or in connection with any single repair, sale or service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that specific repair, sale or service.
We are not liable for any of the following, regardless of how the loss or damage arises:
- Loss of data, contacts, photos, messages or other device content
- Loss of profits, revenue or business opportunity
- Consequential, indirect or special loss or damage of any kind
- Loss arising from pre-existing device faults or conditions
- Loss caused by third-party software, applications or services
- Loss caused by events outside our reasonable control (force majeure)
- Damage caused by your failure to follow our pre-repair recommendations (e.g. not backing up data)
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot be excluded by English law
Your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK consumer protection legislation are not affected by these terms.
Repair Warranty
All repairs carried out by Mobile Fix Studio are covered by our 90-day warranty on parts and labour, subject to the conditions set out in our Warranty Terms. Key points:
- The warranty covers the specific component repaired and the fault described at booking
- The warranty does not cover new or unrelated faults, accidental damage, liquid damage after repair, or damage from misuse
- Warranty claims are subject to our right to inspect the device before deciding on a remedy
- Third-party repair attempts after our work void the warranty on that repair
Phone Buying — Sell Your Phone
Mobile Fix Studio offers a phone buying service through our "Sell Your Phone" form. By submitting a sell enquiry, you agree to the following terms:
Enquiry & Offer Process
Submitting the sell form is an expression of interest only and does not constitute a binding contract. We will review the information and photos you provide and contact you with a buying offer. This offer is:
- Non-binding until accepted by both parties in writing (via WhatsApp, email or SMS)
- Subject to change or withdrawal following physical inspection of the device
- Valid for 7 days from the date of issue, after which it lapses automatically
- Based solely on the information and photos you provide — inaccurate descriptions may result in a revised or withdrawn offer
Your Responsibilities as Seller
By submitting a sell enquiry, you confirm that:
- You are the legal owner of the device and have the right to sell it
- The device is not subject to any outstanding finance agreement, hire purchase or leasing contract
- The IMEI number you provide is accurate and the device has not been reported lost or stolen
- The device is not blocked or blacklisted on any UK network carrier database
- The condition, storage capacity, network status and any known faults are accurately described
- All personal data has been or will be wiped from the device before handover
- You have removed any iCloud, Google, or Samsung account locks (activation locks) before handover
Identity Verification
To protect against fraud and comply with our due diligence obligations, we require all sellers to present valid photo identification at the point of handover before any payment is made. Accepted forms of ID are:
- UK or international passport (valid or expired within the last 2 years)
- UK driving licence (full or provisional, photocard)
We will retain a copy of the identification provided as a record of the transaction. This record is held securely and used solely for the purpose of fraud prevention and as proof of legitimate sale. It will not be used for any marketing purpose. By proceeding with a sale, you consent to us retaining this copy for up to 6 years in line with our standard record-keeping obligations.
If you are unable or unwilling to provide valid photo ID at the time of handover, we reserve the right to decline the purchase and return the device to you at no charge.
IMEI Verification
We reserve the right to verify the IMEI number of any device offered for sale against industry databases before completing a purchase. If a device is found to be blacklisted, stolen, on active finance, or subject to an activation lock at the point of inspection or payment, we will not proceed with the purchase and may be required to report the circumstances to the relevant authorities. No payment will be made in such cases.
Payment to You
If you accept our offer and we complete the purchase, payment will be made by:
- Bank transfer (BACS) — typically same or next working day
- Cash — at the point of handover, by prior agreement
Payment is conditional on the device matching the description and photos provided at enquiry. Any material discrepancy found during inspection may result in a revised offer, which you are free to accept or decline. If you decline a revised offer, the device will be returned to you at no charge.
We take fraud prevention seriously. Attempting to sell a stolen, blacklisted, or finance-encumbered device is a criminal offence. We cooperate fully with law enforcement and network operators on such matters.
Governing Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from our services or products shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before raising a formal dispute or legal claim, we ask that you contact us directly. We are committed to resolving issues quickly, fairly and professionally.
If we are unable to resolve your complaint internally, you may refer the matter to an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider. Contact us for details of the relevant ADR scheme applicable to your situation.

These Terms of Service were last reviewed in June 2025. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
